Moonshot is currently being piloted in two main areas: within the UK Research and Education community and across the European (and beyond) Research and Education community. This wiki space provides details about the progress of each of these pilots.
The UK pilot ended in March 2015.
Jisc UK Pilot
The UK R&E pilot of Moonshot, run by JanetJisc, is running ran from April 2013 to December 2014March 2015 and culminated in the launch of Jisc Assent on 25th March 2015. It's primary aims are were to support participating sites in deploying the Moonshot technology and connecting connect to the Janet Jisc Trust Router. Entry to the Pilot closes on December 19th 2014, and thereafter we will be transitioning into an initial Production Service, planned to be live in March 2015, and primarily targeted at Research organisations.
GÉANT European Pilot
The GÉANT R&E pilot of Moonshot, run by GÉANT, is running from began in March 2013 to March 2015. It's primary aims are to demonstrate how Moonshot technology can satisfy different use cases within the European Research and Education Community; and to establish an initial Trust Router infrastructure, in which multiple European NRENs operate interconnected Trust Routers.
